Appointment of Member and Alternates of Staff Pension Committee

230. The Council, under authority delegated by the Eighth Session of the Conference, appointed Dr. A.S. Tuinman, Agricultural Attaché of the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Rome, as Member of the FAO Staff Pension Committee representing the Conference to serve for the unexpired term of Mr. E.A. Okwuosa (Nigeria), that is to 31 December 1967. Dr. Tuninman having been an Alternate Member of this Committee, the Council appointed Mr. J.G. McArthur, Counsellor of the New Zealand Embassy, to fill through 31 December 1967 the vacancy created by Dr. Tuinman's appointment as Member. The Council also appointed Mr. M.I.K. Khalil, Agricultural Attaché and Permanent Representative to FAO of the Pakistan Embassy, as Alternate Member to fill through 31 December 1967 the vacancy created by the departure from Rome of Mr. Barkat Ahmed.

231. The Council expressed its appreciation of the services Mr. Okwuosa and Mr. Barkat Ahmed had rendered as Member and Alternate Member of the Committee.

Date and Place of the Forty-Ninth Session of the Council

232. The Council decided to convene its Forty-Ninth Session at FAO Headquarters in Rome from 30 October to 2 November 1967.
