ATTITUDE: affective, motivational, perceptive and cognitive, lasting set of beliefs related to a reference group which predisposes an individual to react positively or negatively to these references (16).

BEHAVIOUR: manner of acting or being.

COMMUNICATION SUPPORT: concrete, element, material on which a message is transmitted.

CURRICULUM: group of planned activities to bring about learning: it includes the definition of learning objectives the content, the methods (including evaluation) the materials (including academic manuals) and those aspects related to teacher-training.

EDUCATION: the implementation of appropriate methods for ensuring the training and development of a human-being.

INPUTS: these are the elements which are going to be transformed into outputs through the implementation procedures in the programme.

KNOWLEDGE: set of experiences and intellectual capacities of an individual.

MARKETING: techniques and methods for a commercial strategy and the study of the commercial markets.

MEDIA: channel of communication.

MOTIVATION: phenomena providing the stimulus to act to achieve objective.

NUTRITION EDUCATION: group of communication activities to bring about a voluntary change in practices, which have affect the nutritional status of a population. The ultimate goal of nutrition education is to improve nutritional status.

OUTCOMES: in the evaluation of a programme. Results of interventions.

SAVOIR-FAIRE: skill in solving a practical problem.

VALUES: set of beliefs and opinions related to abstract references or principles, and to behavioural norms. Values are held for a lifetime.

SELF-EFFICACITY: persons beliefs about how capable they are of executing or carrying out specific behaviours.

SOCIAL COMMUNICATION: the set of norms which dictate the interactions between individuals of the same culture. According to this definition, nutrition education can be considered as an intervention aimed at changing social communication in nutrition.
