NIGERIA | LEGISLATION Exploitation of natural resources of waters under national jurisdiction reserved to Nigeria, unless it is subject to provisions of any treaty to which Nigeria is a party. (Sect. 2(2)) (Decree No. 28 of 2 October 1978 on EEZ) -Prohibition on industrial fishing within 2 miles of coast. -Provision relating to use of nets, trawls. -All catch must be landed in port, and no part of it may be exported or transhipped at sea. -Fish landed by shrimp trawlers must be at least 75 % by weight of total landings.
