REPORT ON UNSCHEDULED AND
CANCELLED SESSIONS


(1 January 1998 - 31 December 1999)

In Resolution 21/67, adopted in November 1967, the Conference had authorized the Director-General to convene sessions of FAO bodies and expert consultations other than those approved in Programme of Work and Budget (PWB), provided that such sessions be reported to the next Council session. Subsequently the Council agreed at its Hundred and Second Session (November 1992) that information on unscheduled and cancelled sessions should henceforward be provided in successive Pogramme Implementation Reports (PIR). This PIR reports on unscheduled and cancelled sessions for the biennium from 1 January 1998 to 31 December 1999.

The starting point of reporting for the 1998-99 biennium is the List of 1998-99 Scheduled Sessions given in the supplement to the PWB 1998-99 (C 97/3 Sup.1).

The following data summarizes the movements during the reporting period:
