Olivio Argenti (BSc. Hons. Economics, London and MSc. Agricultural Economics, Oxford) is an Economist, specializing in food product marketing in developing countries. He has been working in FAOs Marketing and Rural Finance Service (AGSM) since 1990. His professional experience covers Latin America, Africa, the Near and Middle East and Asia. Since 1995 he is the focal point for FAOs initiative for Food Supply and Distribution to Cities and Editor in Chief of the Food into Cities Collection. He has directed several research programmes, as well as national and regional seminars on various aspects of food supply and distribution to rapidly expanding cities, on marketing extension, on market information services and on cereal banks, to name but a few.
