FAO Database on Introductions of Aquatic Species (DIAS)
52. The Secretariat presented a summary of technical guidelines on the use and responsible management of exotic species in fisheries and aquaculture and invited the participants to complete the information collated for Latin America for FAO's Database on Introductions of Aquatic Species (DIAS).
Presentations by the participants of Colombia and Brazil
53. The expert from Colombia gave a presentation on the status of aquaculture and related policies in his country. The expert from Brazil spoke about the oyster and small-scale caged shrimp culture activities that had been developed under the Brazilian Mariculture Linkage Program implemented in cooperation with CIDA (Canada). Both presentations stirred considerable interest among the participants.
