Situation in animals

The avian influenza A(H7N9) virus has been detected in areas where human cases have been reported. Specifically, H7N9 has been detected:


  • in chickens, ducks and caged pigeons marketed for consumption, a homing and a feral pigeon; and
  • from environmental sources from live bird markets.
