Please note that the maps only refer to outbreaks that were officially notified to FAO, OIE or the World Reference Laboratory. Also please note that countries are not subdivided into their internal regions or disease free zones and that there is no attempt made to locate the outbreaks more precisely within countries. Colours in these maps simply imply that the country reported FMD outbreaks in the period indicated and these maps are not to be used for any real epidemiological analysis or conclusions. While every effort is made by the secretariat of the Commission to ensure the accuracy of the maps and the data that they are based on, the European Commission for the Control of FMD and FAO do not guarantee the accuracy of the maps and will not be held liable for any inaccuracies or omissions.
