How can I enter summary disease data into TADinfo?
TADinfo has been designed to work with disease reports that are incident based and geo-referenced. This means that each observation of livestock disease reported to headquarters is identified by date and geo-references. TADinfo can not store or analyse summary reports that aggregate data such as district level monthly disease reports.
I cannot find the locality listed in the drop down box. What should I do?
FAO supplies TADinfo customised with village/locality names. This list is by no means exhaustive and users may have to update it as required. This is a simple task.
Example:
Field Observation module: if after getting to the Locality tab and entering an Admin 1 and an Admin 2 you cannot find the required locality in the village/locality drop down box, you should create a new locality:
1. Click on the [Locality] from the Field Observation > Create New > Locality page. Within the popup window of the locality picker, click the flag icon near the top on the right hand side.
2. Then enter the name of locality, select Admin 1, 2... that the locality belongs to, type latitude and longitude, remembering to specify if they are North, South, East or West. These data are required so the point can be plotted on the map produced. They can be easily obtained from a detailed map, or from GPS readings if available.
3. Enter the source of these lat/long co-ordinates, i.e. whether they were obtained by GPS readings or map readings etc, and click [OK].
4. Your newly added locality will now appear on the list of village/locality options.
5. The locality is now permanently entered into the database and thus appears as an option for future use.
I want to analyse my data on a statistics program. How can I do this?
It is possible to export the results of any query that you make in TADinfo as a file in Microsoft Excel format. This allows you to perform further analysis/charting of the data, if required, using Excel or a statistical package. |
