Global Challenge Dialogue on Climate and Health
Nairobi, Kenya, 9-11 September 2008

PPLPI participated in a meeting on: ‘Linking Climate and Health Research to Reduce Africa’s Infectious Disease Burden: An exploratory dialogue’. The dialogue was organized by a consortium comprising (i) the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC); (ii) the International Livestock Research Institute; (iii) Google.org, who sponsored the dialogue; (iv) the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE); and (v) the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI); its aim was to engage a diverse group of stakeholders across Africa and beyond, and through collaborative actions, to strengthen the capacity to predict, prevent and mitigate the impacts of climate-sensitive infectious diseases. » Read more

PPLPI participated in the Workshop on Rural Development and Poverty Reduction Dimensions of Pig (Livestock) Sector Growth and Development in Viet Nam, organized by the Centre for Agricultural Policy – Institute for Policy and Strategy for Agricultural and Rural Development (CAP IPSARD) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD). The workshop was the first formal meeting of the Technical-Policy Team of the Viet Nam Livestock Policy Task Force. » Read more
