Distribution
Kastanozems
occur on the southern steppes of Ukraine, southern Russia, Mongolia and the Great Plains
of the USA. There are 465 million hectares of these soils wordwide. Kastanozems are
associated with Chernozems, Calcisols, Gypsisols, Solonetz and Solonchaks.
