TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND TRAINING
AGPC provides technology transfer and training through various channels:
FAO Regular Programme. Recent activities include advising on organic coffee improvement in Viet Nam, dissemination of cold-tolerant oil palm in east Africa, and promoting sustainable wheat and rice-wheat production systems in Bangladesh
TeleFood. Through FAO's annual TeleFood campaign, AGPC assists small community-based projects, including multiplication of cactus pear for forage in Argentina and women's horticultural production in Burkina Faso
FAO Technical Cooperation Programme. As lead technical or cooperating unit, AGPC has helped foster development of hybrid rice in Indonesia, conservation agriculture in Burkina Faso, sweet sorghum in China, and high-value horticulture in remote mountain areas
Trust Funds. With bilateral funding, AGPC has promoted conservation agriculture in Mongolia, date production in Namibia, cereal technology and transfer to farmers in Bangladesh, and grasslands management in Morocco
The Special Programme for Food Security. SPFS aims at boosting food production in low-income food-deficit countries. Through SPFS, AGPC provides technical backstopping for intensified rice production, home gardens and farmer field schools
