The International Farming Systems Association (IFSA) - FAO Electronic Facility is dedicated to improving the understanding and quality of farming systems research and development activities throughout the world. This Facility provides a mechanism for the flexible and rapid electronic sharing of research and development papers, notes, data and materials related to Farming Systems Approaches, through:

  • A peer reviewed electronic journal for the farming systems approach, of which a selection of papers will be issued periodically on CD

The Facility invites original draft papers and notes on multi-disciplinary and participatory topics related to agricultural technologies, markets, other support services and policies that enhance food security, alleviate poverty, and contribute to sustainable agriculture and rural development, at farm, community, regional, national and international levels. Items posted to the journal and the exchange platform will be grouped under the following themes (additional themes may be added in the future)
