The Fourteenth Session of the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture will be held at FAO Headquarters in Rome from 15-19 April 2013. The opening meeting will begin at 10.00 hours on Monday 15 April 2013. The Session will be preceded by a day of regional consultations on 14 April 2013 and by a one-day Special Event on Biodiversity for Food and Agriculture, on 13 April 2013.

This session of the Commission will be of importance for animal genetic resources, since it will review progress made in the implementation of the Global Plan of Action for Animal Genetic Resources and its Funding Strategy and advise on the preparation of The Second Report on the State of the World’s Animal Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture.
