Fields in the city
By the year 2005, more than half the world's population will be living in cities. While most food continues to be produced in rural areas and transported long distances to city markets, agricultural production in and around cities is growing. Today, at least 800 million people, mostly women, produce food and/or make an income from urban and peri-urban agriculture.
