As mentioned before, the case studies are based on dekadal rainfall grids, at
a spatial resolution of approximately 0.1 degrees. Nevertheless, the presentation
of rainfall maps is restricted to annual rainfall amounts, expressed in mm /month.
Consequently, monthly images are created each as a sum of three dekadal imges.
In a further step, annual rainfall images have been computed as the average of
twelve monthly images.
The menu above allows to choose the rainfall map of a special year, the movie
including the evolution of rainfall amounts between 1983 and 2002 and the
reference rainfall. The latter shows the average rainfall map, again in mm /month,
respecting all annual rainfall maps from 1983 to 2002.
