Asian NGO coalition for agrarian reform and rural development (ANGOC)

ANGOC is a regional NGO association of 21 national and regional NGO networks from 11 Asian countries actively engaged in food security, agrarian reform, sustainable agriculture and rural development activities.

CERFE

CERFE is a non-profit association for research and education in General Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council.

Heifer International

Heifer is an NGO which gives people a long-term source of food, such as a heifer, rather than short-term relief. It runs projects around the world in the areas of agroecology, animal management, disaster rehabilitation, gender equity, HIV-AIDS, microenterprise, and urban agriculture.

Humane Society International

As the international arm of The Humane Society of the United States, HSI addresses issues such as inhumane practices and conditions affecting companion and farm animals, illegal trade in wildlife, threats to endangered species, slaughter of marine mammals, and the use of animals in research and testing. HSI works with national and jurisdictional governments, humane organizations, and individual animal protectionists to find practical, culturally sensitive, and long-term solutions to common animal problems.

International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM)

IFOAM is a grassroots and democratic organization that currently unites 750 member organizations in 108 countries with the common goal of promoting the organic agricultural movement worldwide. Its members support and advocate the worldwide adoption of ecologically, socially and economically sound systems based on the principles of Organic Agriculture.

International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR)

IIRR is a rural development organization with 80 years of experience, working in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It promotes people-centred development through capacity building for poor people and their communities, development organizations and agencies.

Institute for Production and Research in Tropical Agriculture (IPIAT)

IPIAT is a private, non-profit organisation which searches for development alternatives for small and medium rural producers who form the backbone of national agriculture. It promotes development alternatives based on a rational and balanced use of natural resources which also respond to the food needs of the Venezuelan population. (Available in Spanish only)

International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD)

Established in 1990, IISD is a Canadian-based not-for-profit organization that promotes change towards sustainable development. As a policy research institute, IISD engage decision-makers in government, business, NGOs and other sectors in the development and implementation of policies that are simultaneously beneficial to the global economy, the global environment and to social well-being.

Kenya Freedom from Hunger Council (KFFHC)

Kenya Freedom from Hunger Council was established with the main function of supplementing the government's efforts in the fight against hnger and malnutrition. This is achieved through interventions in the areas of water development, livestock and agriculter development, range-land management in pastoral areas, primary health that is mainly family planning and HIV/AIDS and technological transfer form research form stations to communities for the purpose of increasing production.

Movimondo

Movimondo is a non–profit Italian NGO that works for the promotion of human development, the defence of human rights and social justice in developing countries around the world. In the implementation of the activities, particular attention is paid to poverty alleviation, humanitarian aid and environmental protection (Available in Italian only).

PELUM (Participatory Ecological Land-Use Management)

This association is a network of civil society organizations working with local communities in the areas of sustainable agriculture and natural resource management with members and programmes in Botswana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

RIMISP(Latin-American Centre for the Rural Development)

RIMISP is a non-profit organisation which promotes innovations to improve the quality of life in rural regions and to strengthen the capacity of its inhabitants to control their own futures. Rimisp acts in close collaboration with individuals, public and private organization, as well as national and international organizations in the Latin American and Caribbean region. Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI)

The Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) is a non-profit, independent research institute and think-tank specialising in sustainable development and environmental issues. SEI has provided international leadership in such varied issues as global climate change, acid rain, renewable energy sources, the development of clean technologies, global scenario analysis, assessments of global clean water, and integrated river basin development.

Sustainet – Sustainable Agriculture Information Network

Sustainet is a cooperative project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), to combat world hunger through sustainable agriculture. Sustainet cooperates with projects and organisations in Africa, Latin America and Asia to identify factors that help scale up pilot approaches and identify the framework conditions required to do so.

Via Campesina

Via Campesina is an international movement which coordinates peasant organizations of small and middle-scale producers, agricultural workers, rural women, and indigenous communities from Asia, Africa, America, and Europe.It is an autonomous, pluralistic movement, independent from all political, economic, or other denomination.

World Neighbours

World Neighbours is a non-profit, non-sectarian, self-help organisation supported by private donations. It helps communities to solve their own problems of hunger, poverty and disease, and its programmes integrate improved sustainable agriculture, community-based health, reproductive health, environmental conservation, water and sanitation and livelihood strategies.

The UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues

The UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues provides recommendations and advice on indigenous issues to the UN Economic and Social Council and other UN agencies. Its goals are to raise awareness and promote the integration and coordination of activities related to indigenous issues with the UN system, and to prepare and disseminate information on indigenous issues.
