July/August 2004 A Strategy for Education for Rural People in Kosovo (2004 2009)
On June 17, in Pristina, Kosovo, a medium-term Strategy for Education for Rural People, prepared during 2003 2004 by the Ministry of Education Science and Technology and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development with the technical support of FAO was officially launched and presented to the donors community. The strategy, which has been articulated around eight strategic goals and five intervention programmes, is based on an assessment of the basic education needs of rural people. The strategy and the assessment study, as well as the participatory methodology presented in the attached document, will drive the policy and planning activities of the two ministries and can be considered an interesting experience that could provide inspiration for countries to undertake a similar collaborative effort in favor of Education for rural People.
