DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the Manager of the National Forest Programme Facility (Facility) and with the guidance of the Facility Senior Operations Officer, the incumbent will:- maintain, update and develop the Facility website in close collaboration with the Facility Information Systems Officers, the country coaches and the Facility national focal points;
- compose, produce and disseminate informative and promotional material of the Facility in collaboration with the Facility Information Systems Officers;
- provide inputs for and participate in the implementation of a communication strategy that will improve the visibility of the Facility with national stakeholders, international partners, CPF members, donors, and the public at large;
- strengthen the communication with the coaches on informational aspects and contribute to the coherence of the methodology to deliver information to the national partners;
- assist in the dissemination of information on nfp and related technical topics by organizing, facilitating and conducting workshops in new and existing Facility partner countries;
- analyse and compile the results achieved by the Facility in supporting the nfp processes in partner countries and promote the exchange of experiences and lessons learnt of the Facility;
- in close collaboration with counterparts, improve the linkages between the national experiences in nfp and the international and global level initiatives (like UNFF, MYPOW, CPF, WFC, etc);
- assist in preparing the Facility contributions to the International Arrangement on Forests;
- perform other related duties as required (including country coaching).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should meet the following:
|
- Advanced University Degree in Forestry, Forest Economics or Natural Resource Management
- Five years of relevant professional experience with developing countries in forestry related development activities, such as forest policies, participatory processes, non-state stakeholder involvement in policy formulation processes, workshop organization and information management
- Working knowledge of two of the following languages: English, French or Spanish

SELECTION CRITERIA
Candidates will be assessed against the following:

- Relevance of professional experience in forestry, forest policies and participatory processes
- Extent of experience in forest information system development
- Relevance of experience with UN, intergovernmental, international organizations related to forestry
- Relevant networking skills with different types of forestry stakeholders (government and non-government)
- Demonstrated ability to organize and conduct workshops
- Quality of languages, presentation and communication skills on technical issues
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and operate as a team player
