General information The General Service category include secretarial, clerical and administrative staff but also guards, nurses, software trainers and building technicians among others. When a vacancy announcement is issued to fill a General Service post, without prejudice to the recruitment of fresh talent at all levels, the fullest regard shall be given, in filling vacancies, to the requisite qualifications and experience of persons already in the service of the Organization including staff recruited for short term assignments. However, occasionally it is required to proceed with external recruitment. External Vacancy Announcements Before submitting an application, please read the guidelines to applicants. Complete a Personal History Form, available in MS Word (A4 and letter formats), and a detailed CV, plus a photo in a sealed envelope marked "CONFIDENTIAL - Application for [position] and [grade]" to the address mentioned at the bottom of the vacancy announcement, quoting the vacancy announcement number. Temporary Assistance Pool FAO occasionally recruits suitably qualified staff for short term assignments in the General Service Category.
