PARTICIPATORY RESEARCH AND ACTION

There is an increasing body of knowledge on the gender dynamics of natural resource management. FAO is contributing to this effort by collaborating with and supporting the work of NGOs, research institutions and other international organizations throughout the world to carry out research and support processes of change. The aim of the Gender and Natural Resources Management Programme is not only to expand the body of knowledge on this topic but to link institutions and action groups working on this issue. The Programme builds on the knowledge that individuals and organizations already possess and facilitates a process of sharing this knowledge with development practitioners and decision-makers.
