7 May 2013, Rome, Italy - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva warmly welcomed an Indonesian delegation to FAO Headquarters in Rome, Italy today.  

Helmy F. Zaini, Minister for the Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Republic of Indonesia, and the Director-General discussed the importance of a ‘blue economy’ and the priority FAO has placed on fisheries and aquaculture in several regions.

New focus on working together with civil society and private sector

26 April 2013, Rome - FAO's  governing Council today approved two new Strategies aimed at strengthening FAO's partnerships with civil society organizations on the one hand and the private sector on the other.

The Strategies provide a framework for FAO's work with private and civil society partners in pursuit of the Organization's Strategic Objectives and the eradication of hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition.

Important role for Africa in implementing FAO renewal plan

Meets with Brazilian Minister Gilberto Carvalho

Nicaragua's Foreign Minister meets FAO Director-General

23 April 2013, Rome - FAO recognizes Nicaragua's  great efforts in the fight against hunger, FAO Director-General, José Graziano da Silva told Nicaragua's Foreign Minister Samuel Santos López today.
