Uganda encouraged to embrace commercial farming

8 March 2013, Kampala/Rome - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva met with Ugandan Vice-President Edward Sekandi to discuss ways to ensure food security for all Ugandans and reduce poverty by supporting rural smallholders in the country's agriculture sector.

Framework agreement covers office space, administrative and logistic support

27 February 2013, Rome, Italy - FAO will assist the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to establish country offices on FAO’s premises in selected countries, according to a framework agreement signed today by the chiefs of the two Rome-based food agencies.
