High-level Forum on Climate Change and Food Security in the Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States in Asia and the Pacific Region.

Wednesday, 12 March, 08.00 – 15.30 – The event, attended by Ministers and Senior Officials from 22 LLDCs and SIDS in the Asia Pacific region, is in response to the special circumstances these countries are facing – they are far more vulnerable to the impacts of climate change than others in the region. The Forum is meant to discuss their special needs. The programme will cover Heads of Agriculture Dialogue where countries will share experiences on impact of climate change on food security, and the possible interventions from adaptation and mitigation that can be undertaken. In addition, the Forum will also address the policy options and actions needed to minimize the negative impacts of climate change on food security. The event will be closed by the DG of FAO.
