COFI Sub-Committee on Aquaculture - Side Events

The 12th Session of the COFI Sub-Committee on Aquaculture invites registered participants to three side events. While these events do not constitute a formal component of the Session, and are independently organized, they nevertheless provide complimentary and timely information on sustainable aquaculture development. Please find the details of the side events below, and kindly note that interpretation will be available in English and Spanish only.

Objective: Follow-up on the SDGs aligned Artemia aquaculture workshop (GCA +20 Shanghai, China) and the COFI SCA 11 conclusions regarding Artemia: recommendations for further action as proposed by the International Artemia Aquaculture Consortium
Time: 12:30–14:00 (1 hour 30 minutes)
Description: The newly established International Artemia Aquaculture Consortium (IAAC) hosted by the Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia-Pacific (NACA) aims to explore needs and opportunities for new international initiatives to guarantee a more sustainable provision of Artemia cysts.
17 May World Bank AquaInvest Platform: sharing knowledge, tools and best practices towards sustainable and responsible aquaculture investment Speakers:

Objective: Presentation of the World Bank AquaInvest Platform and launching of the “World Bank Global Seaweed Market Report: Analysis of New and Emerging Market Opportunities”.

Description: The objective of the World Bank Group AquaInvest Platform is to share knowledge, tools, and best aquaculture practices among practitioners, policymakers, innovators, researchers, and experts, and to provide periodic updates and information on current developments in aquaculture.
18 May Sustainable Aquaculture in Mexico Speakers:

Objective: Present success stories of aquaculture that takes place in Mexico.
