Asia and the Pacific’s Regional Rice Initiative

About the event: The event will start at 13:00 hours with an Opening Statement by the Assistant Director-General/Regional Representative for Asia and the Pacific (FAORAP), followed by a panel discussion that will include the following representatives:

  • Mr. Xaypladeth Choulamany, Director-General of Planning and Cooperation, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Lao PDR
  • Mr. Coco Kokarkin Soetrisno, Director of Aquaculture at the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Indonesia
  • Mr. Lupino Lazaro Jr., Agriculture Attaché, Philippine Embassy in Rome
  • Mr. Clayton Campanhola, Coordinator, Strategic Objective 2: Make agriculture, forestry and fisheries more productive and sustainable, and Director FAO’s Plant Production and Protection Division (AGP)

The panel will be moderated by Mr. Ren Wang, Assistant Director-General, Agriculture and Consumer Protection Department.

The event will last one hour and will close at 14.00 hours. 

FAO’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAORAP) will be offering a coffee service to the attendees from 14:00 onwards in the Sheik Zayed Lounge.

Purpose: The side event will showcase FAO's achievements and provide evidence on how the Organization has brought about changes or impacted developing countries and the global community.
