Global Symposium on Soil Pollution



Participants will include representatives from FAO member states, UN Environment, Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions and WHO country parties, UN, governmental and non-governmental institutions, presenters whose abstracts are accepted and scientists and practitioners working in related fields. Additionally, the symposium is expected to call the attention of the private sector working on agricultural inputs production and distribution, pollutant management, and technology development for measuring and controlling soil pollution, and restoring polluted sites, such as the International Zinc Organization and the International Lead Organization.

For representatives from governments, UN Secretariats, Funds, Programmes, specialized agencies and intergovernmental organizations, invitations will be sent by the symposium organizing committee towards the end of December 2017. Representatives of non-State actors can express their interest in attend the symposium through an online registration form which will be made available in December 2017. Registration will be open until  8 April 2018.

NOTE: Please, note that there is no registration fee and participation in the symposium is free. However, participants should bear their own travel and accommodation expenses. Limited funds will be available to help young scientists from developing countries attend the symposium.
