FAO and Brazil support the School Feeding Program in Sao Tome and Principe

Delegates from Brazil’s Agency for Cooperation (ABC) and National Fund for School Development (FNDE) recently met with FAO and representatives from the government of Sao Tome and Principe to discuss strengthening the local School Feeding Program. FAO and Brazil will provide technical guidance to the government as it develops plans for creating and maintaining school gardens and as it designs its regulatory framework for the National Law on School Feeding. It will be an important step in ensuring food security and proper nutrition for Sao Tome and Principe’s children. Minister of Education, Jorge Bom Jesus said, “The government of Sao Tome and Principe and the Minister of Education is thrilled to receive the technical support of Brazil and FAO. We are confident that throughout this collaboration we will be able to consolidate our still very young school feeding program”.
