Mister of Foreign affairs underscores Paraguay’s commitment to family farming and ICN2
During a meeting with FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva, Paraguay’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ramón Eladio Loizaga Lezcano, described the family farming initiatives in his country that are helping local farmers gain access to a wider market. These programmes include school and hospital feeding programs, which also promote better nutrition among children. Loizaga praised the upcoming Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2) for working to accomplish the same goals. “We believe that a conference of this nature is particularly important for the children, especially now that we can see a swift change from a traditional diet to a more commercial one that generates obesity and deficits in children’s nutrition,” he said.
