Participants in the symposium will be representatives of governments, United Nations Secretariat, Funds, Programmes, and Specialized Agencies (UN system), intergovernmental organizations, parliamentarians and non-State actors. The latter includes the representatives of civil society, non-governmental organizations, private sector entities, philanthropic foundations and academic and research institutions.

Invitations will be sent by FAO’s Conference, Council and Protocol Affairs Division.

Invitations to governments are expected to be sent towards the end of September.

Representatives of non-State actors

Can express their interest in attending the symposium through an online registration form. The registration form, as well as criteria for participation of non-State actors, is available on the website of FAO’s Office for Partnerships, Advocacy and Capacity Development at http://www.fao.org/partnerships/events/en/.  

Registration is open from 3 October to the deadline 6 November 2016. 

NOTE: It is expected that there will be up to 350 participants in the symposium. FAO and WHO are unable to fund participants.
