Sustainable forestry and forest-based industries can alleviate global challenges such as food and energy insecurity, climate change and water management. Private sector innovations open new pathways to sustainable production and consumption, but require new investments, sustainable trade, and financing for both.

The Business Networking Event marks a unique opportunity for the leading forest product companies gathering in Durban to discuss investments in the forests of Africa and the world. Some 120 participants – mostly forestry and industry firms but also technology suppliers, traders, Research & Development institutions, investment banks and land and fund managers – are expected to convene in a pre-arranged and clocked “speed dating session”.

This dynamic business-to-business networking event is designed to strengthen private sector participation in the WFC by offering a platform for scoping investments, scouting business partnerships, and seeking leads to financing trade and investments.
