الدكتور عبد الوهاب زايد يحوز على لقب الإنجاز المتميّز في مجال حماية النخيل وإنتاج التمر والزراعة المستدامة

 

15 ديسمبر|كانون الأول 2015، روما-- عيّن جوزيه غرازيانو دا سيلفا المدير العام لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة للأغذية والزراعة (فاو) اليوم سعادة الدكتورعبد الوهاب زايد الأمين العام لجائزة خليفة الدولية لنخيل التمرلدى دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، سفيراً للنوايا الحسنة نيابة عن "فاو" تقديراً لعمله البارز في مجال إنتاج التمور وحماية النخيل ودعمه لأنشطة التنمية المستدامة في القطاع الزراعي لدولة الإمارات.

New office to focus on support to farmers, climate change and natural resource conservation, statistics, veterinary reform and food safety

10 December 2015, Tirana, Albania FAO’s newly established office in Albania was inaugurated today, in the presence of Minister of Agriculture Edmond Panariti and FAO Director-General Jose Graziano da Silva. The office – FAO’s first on the Balkans – will coordinate FAO projects in national priority areas such as support to farmers, climate change and natural resource conservation, statistics, veterinary reform and food safety.

9 December 2015 Tirana, Albania - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva was awarded today with an honorary doctorate degree –“Honoris Causa”- by the Agricultural University of Tirana, Albania, for his achievements and distinct commitment in the development of Albanian agriculture.

Participating in the ceremony were university rector Fatos Harizaj, Minister of Agriculture Edmond Panariti, FAO Assistant Representative in Albania Arben Kipi, and numerous university faculty and officials.

New 4-year agreement to better track progress on nutrition and food security

4 December 2015, Rome -- FAO and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) are embarking on a four-year partnership to improve diets, strengthen agricultural research to combat hunger, and track international progress toward more food security and better nutrition.  

More specifically, the two agencies will collaborate on important areas such as policy guidelines for healthy diets and to develop a diet-diversity index.
