Graziano da Silva meets Finland’s State Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry

3 April 2014, Bucharest, Romania – Expansion of cooperation between FAO and Finland was discussed during a meeting  between Director-General José Graziano da Silva and Finland’s State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Risto Artjoki.

The meeting took place on the margins of the 29th FAO Regional Conference for Europe, which is the Organization’s regional governing body for Europe and Central Asia.

Graziano da Silva highlighted the positive impact of FAO’s Comprehensive Management of Natural Resources programme, which had resulted in uniting all national scientific and research institutions as one body, for better coordination and effectiveness.

Finland’s Minister assured that country would continue its support of FAO in forestry and fisheries, and requested the Organization’s expertise in food waste and losses.
