EXPO 2015 in Milan is focus of Director-General meeting with Italian Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry

Graziano da Silva meets Vice Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies of Italy

3 April 2014, Bucharest, Romania – FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva and Andrea Olivero, Vice Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies of Italy, agreed to work together in the course of preparation for EXPO 2015 in Milan, particularly in attracting the private sector to the event.

The meeting took place on the margins of the 29th FAO Regional Conference for Europe, which is the Organization’s regional governing body for Europe and Central Asia.

José Graziano da Silva expressed his appreciation for Italy’s logistic and financial support to organize the Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2) - jointly organized by FAO and the World Health Organization (WHO) - which will be held at FAO Headquarters in November 2014. 

The Italian Vice Minister emphasized his country’s interest in partnering with FAO during Italy’s forthcoming presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second semester of 2014.
