Tajikistan backs FAO reform and decentralization

Minister underlines importance of cooperation with FAO

18 June 2013, Rome -  Tajik Minister for Agriculture Kosim Kosimov expressed strong support for FAO reform and decentralization at a meeting with Director-General José Graziano da Silva here today. The Minister also underlined Tajikistan excellent cooperation with FAO over the last15 years and expressed special appreciation of the Organization’s current  work in his country. 

Kosimov and Graziano da Silva noted with satisfaction the  progress made since the 28th FAO  Regional Conference for Europe in Azerbaijan in April 2012, which speeded the Country Programme Framework (CPF) for Tajikistan and the signature of a Host Country Agreement that led to the opening of a fully-fledged FAO Representation.
