Portugal voices total support for FAO

Seeks increased cooperation with Portuguese-language countries

20 June 2013, Rome, Italy – FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva  met yesterday with José Diogo Albuquerque, Portugal’s Secretary of State for Agriculture, who underlined Portugal’s total support of the Organization.

Albuquerque also stressed the importance his country attaches to relations with the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), with the Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOPS) and with the CPLP Office in Lisbon. He indicated that Portugal is ready to collaborate more closely with all CPLP countries.
