Minister Nouri renews his country’s support to FAO Director-General’s vision

Graziano da Silva meets Algerian Minister of Agriculture.

28 March 2014, Tunis, Tunisia– FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva met today with Algeria’s Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Abdelwahab Nouri, on the sidelines of the 28th FAO Regional Conference for Africa held in Tunis.

Graziano da Silva thanked Minister Nouri for his attendance to the conference and recalled his visit to Algeria, where he said he felt warmly welcomed.

“I saw the great potential for the cooperation between FAO and Algeria as well as for South-South cooperation initiatives” he noted.

Da Silva praised the efforts of the Government of Algeria to sustain food security and poverty eradication and asked the Minister to share their experience and best practices with other countries in the region.

Minister Nouri renewed his country’s commitment to FAO and expressed his support to the Director-General’s vision.
