Director-General, Kuwait ambassador inaugurate information stand

14 November 2013, Rome – Director-General José Graziano da Silva and Sheikh Ali Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, Ambassador of Kuwait to Italy, have inaugurated an information stand in the central atrium at FAO headquarters to promote the 3rd Arab Africa Summit, being held in Kuwait on 9-10 November.

The stand also features information on activities of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, which helps Arab and other countries to develop their economies including agriculture. The Fund has so far provided $3.4 billion to 43 countries.

The Director-General expressed his satisfaction with the initiative and underlined the importance of enhancing joint collaboration to the benefit of Kuwait and the Near East and North Africa Region.

Ambassador Al-Sabah reiterated the strong belief of Kuwait in FAO and its mandate and stressed that his country is willing to work with FAO on future initiatives.
