FAO Director-General and President of Djibouti meet in the AU Summit
29 January 2012. Addis Ababa – FAO Director-General, José Graziano da Silva, and the President of Djibouti, Ismael Omar Guelleh, discussed food security and cooperation in a side-meeting during the 18th African Union Summit. Graziano da Silva stated that the fight against hunger in the Horn of Africa was his top priority. Guelleh said that, in Djibouti, key areas for food security were fish farming, palm tree production and fighting desertification.
