7 April 2014 Chisinau, Moldova – FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva and the Minister for Agriculture and Food Industry of the Republic of Moldova Vasile Bumacov signed today a host country agreement, under which FAO will establish a permanent representation in Chisinau.

Following the successful deliberations of the FAO Regional Conference for Europe in Bucharest, Graziano da Silva travelled to Moldova to discuss ways the Organization can further support the Government in a number of areas, including animal health, food safety, nutrition and agricultural development in the country.
