25 August 2014, Rome - Greater progress in the effort to slash world hunger and malnutrition will pay a "peace dividend" by reducing pressures that feed into social unrest and civil conflict, FAO said today.

19 August 2014, Brasilia- FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva and Henrique Paim, Brazil's Minister of Education, discussed ways to expand support for Brazil's international school feeding programs in Latin America and the Caribbean and Africa.

Currently 13 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean receive technical advice from Brazil related to school feeding programs. Some 5,200 technicians in the region have received training and over 13,000 students have participated in

23 July 2014, Dili, Timor-Leste – The Tenth Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) ended today in Dili, Timor-Leste, and placed food and nutrition security at the centre of the bloc's agenda.

Country adheres to the UN’s Zero Hunger Challenge aiming at eradicating hunger and malnutrition by 2025

20 July 2014, Dili, Timor-Leste  – FAO Director General José Graziano da Silva has participated in the launch of two important initiatives related to food security and nutrition in Timor-Leste: the National Action Plan "Eradication of Hunger and Malnutrition in Timor-Leste” and the campaign “Together Against Hunger in the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP)”.
