Strengthening partnership to boost the agricultural sector of Azerbaijan and neighboring countries

27 May 2015, Baku - FAO will soon establish a partnership and liaison office in the capital city of Azerbaijan, to help manage a new partnership aimed at boosting the agricultural and rural sector of Azerbaijan and neighboring countries.

Two agreements - formalizing the partnership, and establishing the new office - were signed here recently by Azerbaijan Minister of Agriculture Heydar Asadov and FAO Director-General Jose' Graziano da Silva.

A milestone in collaboration
23 May 2015, Astana, Kazakhstan - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva and Kazakhstan's Minister of Agriculture Assylzhan Mamytbekov today signed an agreement establishing an FAO Partnership and Liaison Office in the country.

FAO Director-General addresses Astana Economic Forum
21 May 2015, Astana, Kazakhstan - Eradicating chronic hunger and malnutrition worldwide will require the collaboration of both developed and emerging economies, and Kazakhstan is well positioned for leadership in this area. These were among the points highlighted by FAO Director-General Jose' Graziano da Silva as he addressed the VIII Astana Economic Forum here today.

18 May 2015, Rome - The Director-General today met Ambassador Kenneth Quinn, President of the World Food Prize Foundation at FAO’s headquarters.

The World Food Prize is the foremost international award recognizing the achievements of individuals who have advanced human development by improving the quality, quantity or availability of food in the world.

During their meeting, Ambassador Quinn praised the Director-General for his leadership of the Organization.
