Organizations agree on a three-year action plan to improve the food security and resilience of vulnerable communities facing threats and disasters
16 October 2013, Rome - FAO has signed a new partnership agreement with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC),the world's largest humanitarian network, to help improve food security and strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities.

Graziano da Silva acknowledges the effort of the Italian government to maintain its voluntary contributions in 2014

16 October 2013, Rome - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva met today with the Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Emma Bonino. The Italian minister participated in the closing ceremony of World Food Day.

In her meeting with the Director-General, Bonino said that the Italian government intends to maintain its voluntary contributions to FAO in 2014 despite  the economic difficulties the country is going through.
