Director-General hails G7 Agriculture Ministers focus on food systems, role of women, youth in food security

15 October 2017, Bergamo -  At the G7 Agriculture Ministers Meeting today, FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva stressed the role of agriculture and rural development in addressing prevention and responses related to conflicts, migration, and food security.

The G7 ministers were informed by the Director-General about FAO's intention, as co-chair - with the International Organization for Migration - in 2018, of the United Nations Global Migration Group

Talks with Stéphane Travert at G7 Agriculture Ministerial Meeting in Bergamo

14 October 2017, Bergamo - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva today congratulated Stéphane Travert on his appointment in June 2017 as France’s Minister for Food and Agriculture and expressed his hope to continue the long-lasting, successful cooperation between France and FAO.

Their talks on the sidelines of the G7 Agriculture Ministerial Meeting in Bergamo also focused on joint collaboration to fight poverty and ensure food quality standards.

Talks on the sidelines of the Committee on World Food Security

12 October 2017, Rome - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva today met Sudan's State Minister for Agriculture and Forestry, Eldaw Bakhit Mohamed Sabri. 

Talks took place on the sidelines of the 44th session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS). The CFS is based at FAO and is the top forum of the United Nations on food security policies.
