Graziano da Silva highlights role of parliamentarians in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda

25 May 2017, Rome - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva today met Blanca Alcalá, President of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (PARLATINO) for talks on the role of parliamentarians in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, especially in the eradication of hunger and all other forms of malnutrition.

Graziano da Silva highlights date palm nutritional benefits and contribution to ecosystems

15 May 2017, Abu Dhabi - FAO Director-General Jose Graziano da Silva today participated in the annual “Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation” ceremony held in Abu Dhabi, where he praised the Emirates' role in research and conservation efforts. 

Graziano da Silva noted that hroughout the region, date palm is valued for its nutritional benefits, contributions to ecosystems and role in preserving traditional knowledge.
