“This award belongs to rural development and the fight against hunger” – FAO Director-General

5 April 2014 Bucharest, Romania - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva was awarded today with an honorary doctorate degree –“Honoris Causa”- by the Bucharest University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine for his achievements and distinct commitment in the fight against hunger.

“A tribute to a person is always, fundamentally, an acknowledgment of the ideas and causes to which that person has devoted her or his life.

Ambassador welcomes the commemoration of the International Year of Family Farming

Discussion underlines the importance of family farming in the country

3 April 2014, Bucharest, Romania – On the margins of the 29th FAO Regional Conference for Europe, which is the Organization’s governing body for the Europe and Central Asia region, FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva met with Ilham Guliyev, Deputy Minister for Agriculture of Azerbaijan.
