Heads of member organizations of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) discuss post-2015 vision on forests

6 September 2015 , Durban, South Africa (FAO HQ) – Forests have an important role to play in the future of sustainable development and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva said here today.

Promoting rights of family-farmers, indigenous communities and women key areas for cooperation under new partnership

Talks on the commitments to end hunger in Africa by 2025

4 September 2015, Yaoundé, Cameroon - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva  met the Prime Minister of Cameroon, Philemon Yang, during his official visit to Cameroon at the invitation of the head of State President Paul Biya.

Da Silva took the opportunity to thank the Prime Minister for his involvement  in the challenge of ending hunger in Africa which started at the high level meeting organized by the African Union,

4 September 2015, Yaoundé, Cameroon – FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva today today met with representatives of civil society, the private sector and farmers organizations during his visit to Cameroon. He congratulated them for the country’s achievement of the Millenium Development Goals and the World Food Summit hunger targets, stating that this was possible also due to the important work of farmers that account for 80% of the food production

Historic new cooperation program established between government and FAO

4 September 2015, Yaoundé -- Cameroon and FAO today signed two agreements: one creating a $20 million, five-year Partnership Programme aimed at promoting agricultural development in the Central African nation, the other establishing an expanded Partnership and Liaison office here in the capital.
