FAO Director-General meets Agriculture and Livestock Minister

15 February 2018, Rome - FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva today reiterated the UN agency's technical support to Ecuador's "Gran Minga Agropecuaria" programme, which is part of the country's national agricultural development plan. 

At a meeting with the Minister for Agriculture and Livestock, Ruben Flores, both principals also discussed Ecuador's participation in the AGRISurvey agricultural census programme. 

Talks with Nigeria's Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development

At a meeting today, FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva and Nigeria's Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development Audu Ogbeh discussed ways to tackle the impact of climate change in the pastoralist sector in West Africa and the importance of attracting youth to agriculture. 

FAO Director-General meets Mexico's Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights

16 February 2017, Rome -FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva today met Miguel Ruiz Cabañas, Mexico's Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights, for talks about the joint "Mesoamérica sin Hambre" programme and efforts to support Caribbean countries facing the effects of climate change.

FAO to upgrade its presence in the country
