Oman Minister thanks FAO for efforts to boost agriculture productivity

19 June 2013, Rome – FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva underlined his Organization’s “exemplary” partnership with Oman when he met here with Fuad bin Jaáfar bin Mohammed Al-Sajwani, Omani Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries.

The Omani Minister thanked FAO for its ongoing assistance in the preparation of the country’s Strategy for the Sustainable Agricultural Development and expressed his support for FAO’s efforts to boost agricultural productivity in Oman.

High Level International meet to focus on ending hunger by 2025

19 June 2013, Rome – FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva and Ethiopian Minister for Agriculture, Tefera Derbew, met here during FAO’s 38th governing Conference and discussed the importance of the High Level International Meeting on ending hunger in Africa scheduled for  June 30-July 1in Addis Ababa.

Graziano da Silva noted that the meeting represents a unique opportunity to strengthen and renew the commitment to eradicate hunger by 2025. He

Burkina Faso Minister of Livestock and Fisheries thanks FAO for support

19 June 2013, Rome – “We thank FAO for its ongoing work in Burkina Faso, in Africa and around the world, ” Burkina Faso Minister for Livestock and Fisheries J.T. Ouedraogo told Director-General Jose’ Graziano da Silva at a meeting here.

Minister expresses support for FAO reform

19 June 2013, Rome – FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva has encouraged Ghana to continue its efforts in the fight against hunger and invited the country to share its successful experience as an example for other nations. Agriculture Minister invites Rome-based agencies to South Africa

19 June 2013, Rome –  The upcoming birthday party which South Africa is preparing to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s birthday next month will be a thematic event on food security and nutrition, FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva was told.
