FAO Director-General to mayors from around the world: "A radical change is needed to address the problem"

16 October 2017, Rome - FAO is upgrading the status of its presence in Mexico to that of a Partnership and Liaison Office, a status that provides for stronger country participation in the UN agency’s work and programmes at national, sub- regional, regional and interregional levels.

Director-General hails G7 Agriculture Ministers focus on food systems, role of women, youth in food security

15 October 2017, Bergamo -  At the G7 Agriculture Ministers Meeting today, FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva stressed the role of agriculture and rural development in addressing prevention and responses related to conflicts, migration, and food security.

The G7 ministers were informed by the Director-General about FAO's intention, as co-chair - with the International Organization for Migration - in 2018, of the United Nations Global Migration Group
