A letter of intent foresees joint action in animal health, food safety, nutrition and agricultural development in the country

28 March 2014, Tunis, Tunisia– FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva met today with Algeria’s Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Abdelwahab Nouri, on the sidelines of the 28th FAO Regional Conference for Africa held in Tunis.

Graziano da Silva thanked Minister Nouri for his attendance to the conference and recalled his visit to Algeria, where he said he felt warmly welcomed.

28 March 2014, Tunis - The FAO Regional Conference for Africa, held in Tunis, Tunisia, from 24 to 28 March 2014, concluded its 28th Session, reaffirming its commitment to food security and sustainable development.

Fisheries and aquaculture in the African country at centre of talks

28 March 2014, Tunis, Tunisia – FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva met today with Burundi’s Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Odette Kayitesi, on the sidelines of FAO’s 28th Regional Conference for Africa in Tunis.

Graziano da Silva praised the government of Burundi for setting up a national multi-sector platform to fight malnutrition and for its membership of the SUN (Scaling Up Nutrition) Movement.
